Boxing Defense is crucial to winning bouts and especially a title.
I like to classify Boxing Defense into 3 Categories. The reason I do this is because there are three parts of your body that should always be moving.
The First Category of Boxing Defense starts with the Head!
1. The Head: Head movement is crucial when inside the ring. You don't want to get your head used to being in the same spot. You got to keep that head moving. Up and down, side to side. Make sure when you are throwing your jab you are not making a habit of keeping your head in the same position. Keep your opponent guessing.
The Second Category of Boxing Defense is your Arms and Hands!
2. Arms: Your arms and hands are not only your sword but also your shield. Remember, You can't use your arms if you have no body left to throw them. You got to keep your defense up especially when in close. It's the shots you don't see that hurt you so keep them up!
When you are on the outside, don't be afraid to move your hands around a little. It will not only somewhat distract him since he'll be worried about which hand you will fire off, but it will surprise him too! We all know you gotta be first!!
The Third Category of Boxing Defense is you Legs and Feet!
3. Legs: The final but most important aspect of defense are those good ol' LPC's (leather personnel carriers) as the grunts call them. Those legs are the wheels to your vehicle. They will get you into the range to effectively hit your targets and back out to a safe distance. If you are in trouble or winded, those feet will get you that extra second or two to regain your composure.
More importantly, you need your feet to use angles. When you want to throw punches in combinations then slip out of the way of the opponent's counter, you need to incorporate angles and footwork. More into that later..Just know and get comfortable on your feet. Stepping and sliding, in and out.

Boxing Defense is obviously vital to becoming a successful boxer. Some of the Greatest Boxers were known for their defensive skills.
"Boxing defense is key to being a successful fighter. When I box I have one thing .that is always on my mind. That is to avoid getting hit. Any fighter can stand in the ring and get punched in the head, but a good fighter will avoid it"
Remeber!!!! Boxers are in some of the best shape of all athletes in the world..You may want to think about following a training regimen or plan. There are a lot of different videos out there. If you are looking to get in shape and don't have the convenience of getting to a gym..I used a
GOOD DVD! to help me get in shape and through my journey.
If not, always be smart and never bite off more than you can chew. Progression and repetition is key..Along with hard work and determination, ANYTHING is possible!
OT: Question guys,is it really possible? This news is saying that it is. There could be a Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 rematch.
